Trial of Barclays senior executives begins
The trial of four former senior Barclays bankers began yesterday at Southwark Crown Court. The four executives are charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by paying Qatar £332m in secret fees in return for bailout funds during the financial crisis. This is the first time that criminal proceedings have been brought against senior executives in relation to the 2008 financial crisis. Alison Morgan is instructed by the Serious Fraud Office.
