Top 10 set for Supreme Court appearances in 2016
We are delighted to have been recognised by The Lawyer Magazine as one of the top 10 sets in the country in terms of frequency of appearances before the Supreme Court in 2016.
Seven of our members were involved in eleven different cases before the Supreme Court last year, including in the landmark decision in Jogee (joint enterprise); Yam (secret hearings in criminal proceedings); and Golds, the new leading authority on diminished responsibility.
Our members also appeared in cases concerning jurisdiction and extradition (Ismail), ‘stop and search’ powers (Roberts), national security issues (Rahmatullah), and the principles of lex mitior in the criminal law (Docherty). We continued our long-standing trend of receiving regular instructions to act in Privy Council cases (Wright and Crawford).
