David Perry QC and Katherine Hardcastle in Marine's Anonymity Appeal
Sergeant Alexander Wayne Blackman (‘Marine A’) was unsuccessful in his year-long fight to remain anonymous. Sergeant Blackman was recently convicted of murdering an unknown Afghan man and sentenced to life imprisonment. He will serve at least ten years of his sentence.
Marines B and C who were also charged with murder, but cleared of the offence, still maintain their anonymity. Their anonymity is now the subject of judicial review proceedings within the Administrative Court.
