Five judge Court of Appeal considers terrorist sentencing

A five judge Court of Appeal (Lord Thomas CJ, Sir Brian Leveson P,  Sweeney, Hickinbottom and Cheema-Grubb JJ), has handed down a landmark decision on sentencing for offences contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act. Among other issues, the Court considered whether it was appropriate to take into account, at the sentencing stage, the nature of the terrorist organisation involved in the offending.
