CMA's first contested criminal cartel trial

Duncan Penny QC and Fiona Alexander are instructed by the Competitions and Market Authority (CMA) in the first contested criminal cartel case brought by the prosecuting body. The defendants, Mr Dean and Mr Stringer, are accused of dividing customers and rigging bids for the UK supply of cylindrical galvanised steel tanks, used in sprinkler systems for commercial premises such as schools and supermarkets. The defendants have pleaded not guilty and the trial continues at Southwark Crown Court.
