Brett Weaver in UKIP Councillor Electoral Fraud Trial

Brett Weaver is instructed in the trial of Matthew Smith, a UKIP Councillor, who allegedly intended to deceive by submitting falsified nominations for candidates hoping to stand in the 2013 election for Norfolk County Council. It is alleged that Mr Smith’s purpose was to convince election officials to allow candidates who would not otherwise have complied with the criteria. Two other UKIP members, Michael Monk and Daniel Thistlewaite, are also accused of the electoral fraud. The three defendants deny the charges. The trial continues at Norwich Crown Court.
