6 King's Bench Walk has been at the forefront of developments in the criminal law in recent decades and is well known for providing outstanding advocacy int he appeal courts. In cases from R v Saik (conspiracy) to R v G & R (recklessness); from Re A (conjoined twins) (necessity) to Hasan (duress); from R v Adomako (manslaughter) to R v Preddy (theft); and from R v Horncastle (hearsay) to R v Hanson, R v Bovell and Dowds (bad character), members of chambers have argued the cases that are taught and studied in universities and applied on a daily basis throughout England and Wales and sometimes beyond.
Chambers has been instructed in most of the recent criminal or extradition appeals to the House of Lords or Supreme Court and nearly all members have appeared frequently in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). Members of chambers are also instructed in appeals to the Crown Court, High Court, Court of Appeal (Civil Division), Privy Council and European Court of Human Rights.
Our members can provide expert representation on appeal for both prosecution and defence. We have advised individuals on references to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, and are able to advise on 'fresh evidence' cases and appeals outside the normal time limits. |
