6 King`s Bench Walk is recognised as a leading set in the
field of Criminal Law with strength at every level. Members
have participated in many of the major criminal trials in
recent years and appear frequently in the House of Lords,
the Court of Appeal and the Divisional Court. Chambers` practice
covers all areas of criminal law from murder to road traffic
offences.
In particular we have developed an expertise in cases involving
commercial crime.
Crown Court
Members of Chambers have extensive experience of both prosecuting
and defending in the Crown Court. Much of the work we carry
out involves serious crime, and members of Chambers frequently
appear at the Central Criminal Court.
In recent years, members of Chambers have been involved a
number of high profile cases, including the Damilola Taylor
murder, the David Shayler Official Secrets Act case, the Who
Wants to be a Millionaire? trial, the Ladbroke Grove rail
case and the Anthony Imiela prosecution ("the M25 rapist").
Currently, members of Chambers are appearing in the litigation
arising out of the Hatfield rail disaster.
Our most experienced barristers are often instructed as Leading
Counsel in complex cases, have a particular expertise in money
laundering and confiscation proceedings. Complimenting this,
junior members of Chambers are frequently instructed as junior
counsel, providing expert analysis and dedicated case preparation
at an early stage. 6 King's Bench Walk's excellence in this
area is widely recognised. Recently a team from Chambers was
instructed to prepare major litigation in the Commercial Court.
We are instructed by a large number of defence solicitors.
In addition to the Crown Prosecution Service, we are also
instructed by a wide variety of other prosecution agencies,
including the Serious Fraud Office, the Inland Revenue and
HM Customs.
If you require further information about the work of Chambers,
please contact the clerks.
Magistrates' Court
Junior members of chambers regularly defend at magistrates'
courts in London and the South East. We also advise and prosecute
for London Transport, local authorities, the Department of
Trade Industry, the Immigration Services Commissioner, the
Inland Revenue and the probation service.
